Golden Gate Bavarian Club

Bayerischer Heimat- und Trachtenverein

The mountain region of southern Bavaria holds deep and time-honoured traditions. They include regional dialects, costumes, dances and music. The members of the Golden Gate Bavarian Club, as a not-for-profit association, preserve these values and pass them on to future generations by performing for audiences in San Francisco, Oakland and the greater Bay Area.

The Bayerischer Heimat- und Trachtenverein “Golden Gate” is a cultural and social club for adults and children in the San Francisco Bay Area.  It was founded in 2005 to preserve and promote all aspects of traditional Bavarian culture and customs. We proudly wear traditional clothing and participate in activities that preserve the customs. Those activities include folk dancing, singing, playing traditional music, and fun excursions that promote alpine culture.

Our mission:

To preserve and promote the traditional clothing, folk dance, language, music, and culture of southern Bavaria.

Our Verein is a proud member of the Gauverband Nordamerika, an umbrella organization of over 75 Vereine across the United States and Canada.
